Many students may not realize there are some added perks with being a student.  Many companies offer discounts to reward students.  Most of the time, all you need to do is present your student identification card to save.  Here are some discount favorites:

  • Amazon – Students can try a prime student account for half the price of an Amazon prime account. You can learn more about this discount by clicking here.
  • Many large retailers give anywhere from 10% to 15% off in-store purchases. While out shopping, it is always worth asking if the retailer offers a student discount.
  • Local venues such as theaters and museums offer a variety of discounts to students. Before heading out for some fun, it is worth looking into discounts.
  • Car manufactures like to reward students with rebates on new car purchases. If you are in the market for a new car, be sure to check out the manufacturer’s website for current student rebates.
  • Insurance carriers like to reward good students with discounts. Many insurance carriers will offer good student discounts if you maintain a certain grade point average.  If you are not getting a discount now on your car insurance, call your agent to inquire.

Even if a company does not advertise a discount for students, it is worth asking about one.  The saving can really add up quick, especially if you are like most students and on a limited budget.

Here is a great website that lists out incredible discounts that you can take advantage now.  Happy saving!
